Mayor Karen Guzak                     Message from City Manager

Welcome to the City of Snohomish, where we are committed to both the future, through promoting vitality, and to our past by preserving our character. Our city’s history, location, quality of living, and opportunities for business make it the “Jewel of the Northwest”. It is also widely known as the “Antique Capital of the Washington.”

Snohomish is located in the scenic northwest with easy access to all major interstates (I-5 and I-405) and highways (SR9, SR2, and SR522), close to the Port of Everett, Boeing, and less than 30 miles from Seattle.

Snohomish provides our residents and businesses an attractive and inspiring place to live, work and play.

Snohomish is a premier visitor destination for antiques and home décor, riverfront and outdoor activities with robust on-foot shopping traffic that generates a vibrant retail core.  The city’s Historic District hosts festivals and events throughout the calendar year, attracting up to 20,000 visitors a day with tours of historic homes and gardens, summer art walks and classic car shows, hot air ballooning and sky-diving.

Recreational opportunities are plentiful. They include several parks featuring athletic fields and picnic shelters, access to local rivers and lakes, fishing, boating, and swimming.  Miles of local trails in the surrounding scenic valley makes for one of Washington’s best cycling destinations.

Avenue D is zoned for commercial and industrial use, and provides a diverse and centralized corridor for Snohomish business development with Bickford Avenue with new shops at Snohomish Station to the north, and the Historic Business District to the south.

The Visitor Information Center is a great resource for information about community events and local news http://www.snohomishvic.com/.   You can also find out more through the City of Snohomish www.ci.snohomish.wa.us . or at the Chamber of Commerce www.cityofsnohomish.com Discover more about how Snohomish is the ideal place for businesses to locate and for you and your family to live and enjoy a better quality of life.

Come spend time with us in Snohomish, get to know our people, and discover the possibilities!
